Spenser Querry is a screenwriter whose work has been awarded with two consecutive Best Screenplay wins at San Francisco's NxtUP Fest—once in 2017 for the dark comedy short U.F.O., and again in 2018 for Patsy, a dramatic half-hour comedy. Patsy was also recognized as a quarter-finalist in the 2017 Screen Craft Pilot Competition.

In 2016, his television spec scripts for Black-ish and Mr. Robot were both selected for exhibition at the Academy of Art University’s Spring Show, a reputable showcase of outstanding student work, nominated by veteran film industry faculty.

The following year, his original feature screenplay Riparian was selected for exhibition by faculty once again. The story follows a young army vet who, while enduring an experimental treatment to overcome his addiction to opioids, finds himself on an unwitting trip with a 10-year-old boy and a mysterious, unidentified corpse.

In 2018, his commissioned feature Cold Pressed was selected for the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival and was released on Amazon Prime, and Riparian was selected as a Second Rounder at the Austin Film Festival. Currently, three of his short scripts—The Crossing Shore (co-writer Lorenzo Pace), Way Out (co-writer Liv Lee,) and Patrick (story by Yuanhao Du)are collecting accolades across the festival circuit.

In 2019, Spenser again collaborated with Yuanhao Du when he was commissioned to write six episodes of the webseries SuperLoser, which is slated to begin production in mid 2020. This year, he also re-teamed with Cold Pressed director S. Viknesh to adapt the Kirstin Chen novel Soy Sauce for Beginners, of which, he is currently writing.

Spenser holds a BFA in Motion Pictures and Television from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where he later received his MFA in Screenwriting. (He was nominated for valedictorian of his MFA class, but after learning he'd have to give a speech in front of a few thousand attendees, considers the fact that he just missed the mark an accomplishment in itself.)
